You Never Know

May 2, 2009

So recently I got a facebook account and found my 6th grade crush. Over the past few days we've been talking lots and  getting to know each other all over again. It's so surprising how easy it is for me to open up and talk to her about anything. I think we are going to be really great friends at the very least.

I have to say that the Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 demo was pretty damn weak. Now the X-Men Origins: Wolverine demo kicks so much ass. That game is epic!! Despite my disappointment with the MvC2 demo it did get me togo through my back catalog of gaming magazines to bust out these 2 classics. (See Below) Gaming has come a long way in the last decade or so.

The 2000 August and September issues of Gamepro magazine!! To download larger versions of these magazine covers check the media section.

So last night after getting back from seeing X-Men Origins: Wolverine ( a movie I liked btw) I tuned into the Videogame Warzone (www.thebitbag.com) and got on Stickam with the always beautiful Heather Ann. She really is lovely. *-*

In other news I got a chance to listen...

Take You For A Ride

April 28, 2009

Marvel vs Capcom 2 has officially been announced and  I so can't wait. I wonder how Ro Hernandez helped with the exclusivity of the demo for PSN? I remember feeling how crappy it felt when 360 got the SSF2HD Remix beta, but this, for me personally, is the better deal. I have been dying for MvC2 without the ebay price tag for quite sometime. Having online is going to make it even better. I'm so excited and I just can't hide.

I was watching Bones and it was about a funeral and at the wake they sang "Amazing Grace.". My mum used to sing that song all the time. It got me to thinking about why she loved that song so much and now I know I am just going to be sitting here analyzing it. Speaking of death and dying R.I.P. to my distant cousin Carl.

I got a facebook account and added pretty much just people in my gaming circle, but one person in particular stands out. His name is Dylan Cuthbert and his company Q-Games makes the PixelJunk series. So obviously I am a huge fan and after talking to him for the past several days I...

Music Gets Me High

April 16, 2009

I don't know what has changed inside of me, but I've fallen back in love with music. I have gone years without listening to the radio and even internet radio. At one point I stopped listening to music all together. It must have been last week when I just got this urge to pick up some new music and I did. I guess what led up to last week's event was being introduced to song called "Blue" by The Birthday Massacre. The person who introduced me to this Canadian band was someone who lives all the way in Latvia. How crazy is that? lol Before I get into the new music that I really like, I want to first talk about a band who is one big identity crisis - Papa Roach.

What the hell happened to these guys over time? In my opinion their first record is the only one worth wasting your breath on. That piece of shit that put out last year should be burned in the Mexican desert. "Metamorhosis," their lastest cd, sounds like a second rate Hinder reject. I don't know why Roach even puts out cd's or why people actually drop cash to produce... [More]

Sega's Bayonetta

April 15, 2009

Here's the first real trailer for Bayonetta. This game definitely brings DMC to mind. The girl seems like a combination of Dante, Nero and a witch. While I love the DMC franchise Bayonetta definitely looks more exciting to me than DMC4. If DMC5 gets the green light the development team is going to have a lot of stepping up to do. Hideki Kamiya even wants to surpass God of War 3. Looks like there is going to be a lot of competition in the coming months.

PixelJunk Eden Encore Launching on PSN this Thursday

April 14, 2009

Dylan Cuthbert // President and Executive Producer, Q-Games Ltd. had plenty to say this week about Pixeljunk Eden Encore. Personally I can't wait to get it.

"Hey PixelJunk fans,

Just a quick blog update today to let everyone know the expansion pack for PixelJunk Eden hits PSN this Thursday, April 16! In three days you can download PixelJunk Eden Encore for only $5.99.

If you haven’t played the original, then now is the time to start doing so because the Encore expansion pack is something you’re not going to want to miss out on! We’ve put a lot of effort into making Encore have the best of everything from the original game, with great pacing, well-designed levels and heaps of new ideas… have a read of my earlier blog entry for more information about what we have added.

So now I wonder who will be first to discover the cool Easter Egg (appropriate time of year too!) at the end of the game…

In other news, PixelJunk Eden was nominated three times at the Independent Games Festival a couple of weeks back. Yes, even though Sony Computer Entertainment publishes PixelJunk titles in the West (well, who better to turn to...

Street Fighter IV Two Months Later

April 14, 2009

So I'm really wishing that the Championship Edition online expansion was out now. When I decided to play SFIV today after a week long hiatus the first match I had ended because the guy I was playing against decided to ragequit mid match. When I first thought about maybe doing something other than play SFIV the match I was playing ended because the guy I was playing against decided to ragequit mid match. I already planned to blog about SFIV, but I really didn't want my first and last match to end in such a crap way so I decided to keep playing and took a couple of loses to some good players. At this point I was feeling frustrated and less than confident. Luckily ErlFLy_007 agreed to some casual matches (3 hours late ), but it was fun just doing random select and  winning. Granted he's not good, but it got my mind off of things. After he decided his hunger was stronger than his will to play I went back to playing ranked matches. Guess what happened?? The match I was playing ended because the guy I was playing against decided to ragequit mid match. I was so...
